The afternoon slump wants something crunchy and a little sweet. This mix gives you both without a packet of biscuits. Make a jar on Sunday and keep it in your drawer.
Ingredients (makes about 6 handfuls)
- 1 cup roasted makhana
- 1/4 cup almonds
- 2 tbsp pumpkin seeds
- 1 pouch each of banana, pineapple and jamun, from frudo
- A pinch of cinnamon
Method
- Dry-roast the almonds and pumpkin seeds on a pan for 3 minutes. Let them cool.
- Toss everything together in an airtight jar. Add the freeze-dried fruit last so it stays whole.
- Shake once, close the lid tightly, and eat within two weeks.
Tip: freeze-dried fruit takes in moisture from the air, so always close the jar properly.
